Centre treats Telangana like enemy country, imposes economic sanctions: KTR
KTR lamented PM or Central government has not provided any disaster relief despite unprecedented floods in the state.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 16 July 2022 4:47 AM GMTMAUD Minister K T Rama Rao accused the Centre of treating Telangana like an enemy country and imposing economic sanctions.
"Look at the chronology. Financial debts taken two years ago are being added retrospectively. They are saying we crossed FRBM Limits. They are treating us like an enemy country or warring nations and imposing economic sanctions. They are stooping to that level and creating uncomfortable situations. They said they wouldn't buy rice. Piyush Goyal, who said he won't buy rice, is now asking to increase paddy cultivation. Are they running Circus or Sarkar? They are neither lifting custom milled rice nor honoring the commitment. FCI inspections are meant to annoy millers," KTR told media.

"But according to them, we shouldn't build Rythu Vedikas under NREGA. We should only remove mud. Telangana is number one in NREGA. Telangana is creating assets in NREGA which is the whole purpose of it. If the Center has some shame, they should tell the country how the assets like Palle Prakruthi Vanam, Rythu Vedikas, and Vaikunta Damam are created under NREGA. How people's money has been used. BJP CMs should show it to their people. Is there even Palle Gosa in Telangana," he asked.
KTR said that Prime Minister was lying when he said he built a flyover in Hyderabad. "He says he is building flyovers in Hyderabad which nobody can see. Where is the flyover? Where is Rs1500 crore? Being MA&UD minister I can't see. I don't know where he built it. Such an extraordinary feat is possible only when PM Modi is ruling the country. Where is the support for Textile Park? There is no support for pharma cluster", KTR said.
On floods, KTR said they built the Kaleshwaram pump house (to meet the exigency). "Pump house has to be next to the river. People are seeing that Modi gave Rs 1000 crore to Gujarat. Ask him to give something to Telangana. He can send a team to investigate to find out why the pump house was flooded," he said.
KTR said the tax revenues of Telangana are enough to pay salaries and fund welfare schemes. "There is no rule to pay salaries on time. We are paying even if it is delayed. We need loans for new projects and productive assets like pharma city, and irrigation projects. Telangana is always a surplus state. We are taking care of vulnerable people through our welfare schemes which is a fundamental principle of any government. India is still a poor and third-world country. To remove poverty, welfare economics is a top priority. One mad person says because welfare increased, we might become like Sri Lanka", KTR said.
