Gajwel Area Development Authority was formed in 2014. The government has released Rs.431 crore over the past seven years for the development of Gajwal assembly constituency
M Padmanabha Reddy, secretary of FGG has written to Telangana Chief Secretary reminding him of the responsibility of the government towards the people.
"Forum for Good Governance welcomes Government's initiative for the development of part or region of the State. At the same time, it is also the responsibility of the government to address the aspirations and upliftment of the people living in most backward regions of the State such as Komaram Bheem Asifabad, which stands second most backward district in the entire country (as per Niti Aayog assessment)," he said.
He said some of the most underdeveloped assembly constituencies like Asifabad, Khanpur, Alampur, Achampet, Dornakal, Yellanadu, etc. with a majority of the population belonging to SC and ST communities lack connectivity, hospitals, schools, potable drinking water, etc.
"Unfortunately, the concerned legislators are not able to raise their voice either on the floor of the house or outside. They are content with chanting the regular welfare measures of the government," he said.
Seeking an inclusive and uniform development across the state, he urged the government to identify the backward constituencies in the state and constitute area development authorities for comprehensive development in the lines of Gajwel Area Development Authority.
