CM Revanth: No place for KCR and his family in Congress; Cabinet portfolios reshuffle on the cards

Telangana High Court stays trial court proceedings in criminal case against CM Revanth till June 23

New Delhi: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on BRS president and former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), calling him and his family ā€˜enemies of Telangana’.

He also categorically stated that they would never be allowed entry into the Congress party as long as he remained at the helm.

His remarks came on a day when KCR appeared before the Justice PC Ghose Commission in Hyderabad to answer questions related to alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).

Have damaging documents on Kaleshwaram project: CM Revanth

In an informal chit-chat with media persons in Delhi before wrapping up his three-day visit, Revanth Reddy said, ā€œKCR and his family are responsible for the damage done to Telangana. There is no place for them in the Congress, now or ever.ā€

CM Revanth Reddy also hinted that he would soon release key documents exposing irregularities in the KLIP, currently under scrutiny by the Justice PC Ghose Commission.

Turning his attention to national politics, CM Revanth hit out at Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, accusing him of neglecting Telangana’s infrastructure needs. ā€œWhile BJP leaders helped other States secure Metro Rail and other major projects in Chennai and Bengaluru, Kishan Reddy failed to bring anything significant to Telangana,ā€ he said.

ā€˜Limited reshuffle of portfolios in the Cabinet can happen’

On administrative matters, the chief minister indicated that a limited reshuffle of portfolios within the State Cabinet was on the cards. He clarified that while no Cabinet expansion was discussed during his Delhi visit, some of the 11 portfolios currently under his charge such as Home, Municipal Administration, Sports, and Education, might soon be handed over to recently inducted ministers.

ā€œThere was no talk in Delhi about Cabinet expansion. Any reassignment of departments will be done based on internal consultations and to reduce my workload,ā€ CM Revanth Reddy said.

The Telangana Cabinet currently has 15 members, with three berths still vacant. CM Revanth’s remarks suggest that while the composition may not change immediately, internal adjustments are likely to streamline governance.
