Hyderabad: Reiterating that the six guarantees promised by the Congress party will be implemented in Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that their government has not even completed a month and Bharat Rashtra Samithi is getting restless.

BRS working president K T Rama Rao released a booklet printed with 420 on the symbol of Congress hand in Telangana.

The Congress party workers and the election in-charges met for the first time after the election win in Hyderabad.

Rythu Bandhu

The farmers in the state are worried about the distribution of Rythu Bandhu. Congress party leaders affirmed that it is a part of the six guarantees and will be implemented.

Mahalaxmi scheme of free bus travel for women has been implemented and there are 6.50 crore women who have traveled by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation so far.

About 27 lakh women travel every day, using this free bus facility.

420 jibe

Congress leaders have taken a strong objection to the 420 jibe on their symbol by BRS. G Niranjan, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee senior vice president and chairman of, the Election Commission Coordination Committee said: “A complaint will be made to the Election Commission against the BRS Party and its working president KTR for printing 420 on the HAND symbol to damage the reputation of 139 years old Congress party and also request the EC to cancel the registration of BRS Party. This act is highly objectionable and attracts action.”

Scurry for nominations

There are lots of representations being given to the All India Congress Committee in charge of Telangana Deepadas Munshi, the election in-charge Mansoor Ali Khan for various government posts, and Parliament elections. Congress senior leaders and TPCC members stated that those who have worked hard for the party will be rewarded duly. A review meeting will be held on the 8th and 9th of January for the same.

Hyderabad voters

Deepadas Munshi asked the Congress workers to identify fake, duplicate, and bogus voters in Hyderabad urban areas. The work that was done by Congress aspirant Feroze Khan in Nampally was highlighted in the meeting. According to sources, party workers were instructed to identify more such bogus voters and report them to the EC. Munshi also took objection to the ‘war room’ being closed down in Gandhi Bhawan and instructed that it must be opened immediately.

Muslim representation

A beeline of leaders from the Muslim community who have worked for the party in the last 30 to 10 years are vying for a position. The young leaders demanded that the new ones must be given a chance by the Congress party. A lot of representations were made to the Congress party election-incharge Mansoor Ali Khan.

Committees to be set up in villages

Some committees will be set up in villages to ensure that the benefits of schemes reach the people. At the same time, the strategy is to lay inroads for the Parliament elections. With Bharatiya Janta Party winning from North Telangana, there were demands that those who were loyal to Congress must be given a chance in Parliament elections.

Sonia Gandhi to contest from TS

A resolution was also passed urging Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana. TPCC leaders will approach her to contest Lok Sabha elections from Telangana. The Congress meetings for Lok Sabha will be held before Sankranti to shortlist the names of the leaders.

Congress party is expected to tread very carefully to avoid dissidence. The aim is to win maximum Lok Sabha seats.

Two promises implemented in 48 hours

“The Congress government in Telangana was formed December 7 when the chief minister, the deputy CM and the ministers took oath. Two promises were implemented within 48 hours. In contrast, when the BRS government won the elections in 2018, it took them 36 days to convene the State Legislative session,” said Sridhar Babu, minister of IT in Telangana.

Sridhar Babu said that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao ran the Telangana government without ministers for two months after he won for the second time. “Wasn’t the BRS government mocking the people’s verdict when it delayed work like this?” asked Sridhar Babu.

“The Congress government has already started implementing its election promises. We started the promised free bus service for women in Telangana and so far six crores have used the service,” he said. He alleged that the BRS party is provoking auto drivers against the government regarding the free bus ride scheme.

Congress minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka was also present at the press meeting. Alleging that the BRS government has abused its power and committed a lot of fraud, she said that the government has taken many loans and burdened the people of the state in the last two terms of their rule.

Asking the BRS government to visit the villages in the state to understand people’s mindset, Sridhar Babu said that people are positively responding to the Congress government going by the thousands of people attending public darbar started by the Congress government.
