Hyderabad: Congress Member of Parliament Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy asked chief election commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar to take action against BJP MP Bandi Sanjay for allegedly making unruly remarks against the party in Karimnagar during campaigning for the upcoming Graduate MLC election.
For the election for the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak Graduate Constituency, the Congress candidate is Narender Reddy, the BJP candidate is Anji Reddy and the BSP candidate is Prasanna Harikrishna.
What did MP Kiran Kumar complain to EC?
According to the complaint filed by MP Kiran Kumar to the ECI, on February 25, MP Bandi Sanjay made scathing and unruly remarks against the Congress party.
“He (Bandi Sanjay) made scathing remarks about the party by using cricket as an example. He said that, in the graduate elections, if the voters voted for Congress, it would be a win for Pakistan, and if they voted for BJP, it would be a win for India. This is a breach of the model code of conduct,” said MP Kiran Kumar in the letter to the ECI.
Bandi Sanjay violated MCC, says Congress MP
“For someone who is a Central minister, Bandi Sanjay’s statements are immature and insane,” said Kiran Kumar. MP Kiran Kumar urged the ECI to take action against MP Bandi Sanjay for violating the model code of conduct.
Parties busy with campaigning for Graduate MLC elections
The campaigning for the Graduate MLC elections is in full swing in Telangana State. The elections are set to be held on February 27. It is a litmus test for the ruling Congress party which is using its full force in this election. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu and other ministers have also campaigned for the party candidate.
On the other hand, BJP Anji Reddy is said to have employed an event management firm to direct his campaign plan. Many party senior leaders and cadre are also working full-time to support him for the Graduate MLC elections.
