Congress MP Kiran Kumar taunts KTR for deleting tweet on farmers’ woes under BRS rule

Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy sarcastically congratulated KTR for exposing his father KCR’s failures on X, ‘driven by revenge for not being given the opportunity to become chief minister when the BRS was in power.’
KT Rama Rao recently tweeted a video of a farmer crying over the lack of a support price for the chilli crop. After realising that the video was from the BRS regime in 2018, KTR deleted the tweet.
Once the tweet deletion was noticed, Kiran Kumar Reddy ‘congratulated’ the BRS working president for highlighting the distress of farmers during the BRS regime, which he claimed was a direct result of the BRS government’s misgovernance over the past decade.
Kiran Kumar alleged that, in an attempt to corner the Congress government, KTR showcased the plight of farmers under his own party’s rule.
He further stated that, during the 10-year BRS tenure, farmers struggled with mounting debts, failed to receive minimum support prices and over 8,000 farmers tragically took their own lives. He accused the BRS of failing to address the agricultural issues and criticised past BRS governance, which he claimed had left Telangana’s farmers in dire straits.
