By Newsmeter Network Published on 21 Oct 2022 1:41 PM GMTHyderabad: With the Munugode by-elections nearing, leaders are seen jumping parties.
After quitting the BJP, Dasoju Sravan and Swami Goud rejoined the TRS in the presence of minister KTR.
Addressing the press, KTR expressed his delight at the two leaders' return to TRS and said, "The bond between the people who worked together throughout the Telangana struggle never breaks. Today, I'm glad that they've returned home."
Swamy Goud, former chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council, spoke about why he joined the BJP. "I believed that being in power at the Centre, they could help deliver the promises made to the Telangana state during the state's division," he said.
"We have asked and requested the BJP leaders, both at the Centre and the state, to solve the river water and mines issues, but nothing happened," he added.
About rejoining the TRS, Mr. Goud said, "After KCR established BRS (Bharata Rastra Samithi), we realised that what the ruling national party or the Congress cannot do, the BRS will do. From today, we will work towards the development of the state and the country under the leadership of KCR."
Dasoju Sravan had joined the Congress party after quitting TRS, and recently, in august, he joined the BJP.
On his return to the TRS, Dr. Dasoju Sravan said, "At the time, I made a hasty decision to leave the party that provided me with a political career and brought me closer to the people. But today, after eight years, I've returned home."
About the BJP he said, "I joined (the BJP) because they promised new politics, but the politics they followed in the by-elections were most despicable. Leaders from the weaker sections, such as me, have no place there. It's all about the big contractors."
He added, "Today, Telangana is the crown jewel of the country, an ideal development model for all the states. KCR's leadership has made this possible. Till my last breath, I will stand with KCR and work for the development of the people."
