ED raids on Congress leaders: TPCC president Revanth Reddy blames Amit Shah, KCR
The raids followed allegations that Vivekanand's team was transporting money from Hyderabad to Chennur ahead of the Telangana elections in 2023
By Newsmeter Network Published on 24 Nov 2023 7:12 AM GMTTelangana: TPCC president and Kodangal MLA candidate Revanth Reddy condemned the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and IT raids on Congress leaders.
In a statement, Revanth Reddy emphasized that the raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax (IT) department against Congress candidates serve as further evidence that BRS and BJP are aligned.
It may be recalled that days after media baron G Vivekanand switched sides from BJP to Congress, ED sleuths raided his properties in Hyderabad and Mancheriyal. G Vivekanand is the Congress candidate from the Chennur assembly constituency falling under the Mancheriyal district.
The raids followed allegations that Vivekanand's team was transporting money from Hyderabad to Chennur ahead of the Telangana elections in 2023.
In the last one month, Income tax sleuths raided multiple candidates, especially contesting from the Congress party in Telangana.
On November 10, the day of nomination, sleuths raided Paleru Congress Candidate Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Following the raids, the candidate and his supporters staged a protest alleging that the raids were to stop him from filing for nomination. The search has been going on at his residence in Khammam since 3 am. Pertinently, he has recently joined Congress from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Revanth alleged that these raids were planned by HM Amit Shah and CM KCR. , He said these raids are being implemented by union minister Piyush Goyal and KTR. He questioned why the investigating agencies solely focused on harassing Congress leaders through these raids without uncovering any fault with BRS or the BJP candidates.
Despite the challenges, Revanth Reddy remains confident in the Congress's victory, asserting that their success is assured in the upcoming polls.
