Farmhouse issue BJP-TRS plot to divert attention from BJY: Revanth Reddy
“During every election, the BJP and TRS together bring up a few controversial issues to show that they are the only parties in the fight,” said Revanth.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 29 Oct 2022 9:07 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Revanth Reddy on Saturday said both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) brought out the bribing and poaching of TRS MLAs case in order to divert the attention of the people from the Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra that is currently passing through Telangana. He was speaking at a press meet in Munugode where by-elections are scheduled for 3 November.
"During every election, the BJP and TRS together bring up a few controversial issues to show that they are the only parties in the fight," said Revanth.
Ruling out scope of independent investigation by CBI or ACB, Revanth urged the sitting Supreme Court judge to investigate the farmhouse MLAs poaching case. "If the released audio files are true, it is about Tandur MLA negotiating deals with some swamiji. Then MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy should be A1 accused as he is taking a bribe and the rest of them will be secondary accused. How can the police work without arresting Rohit Reddy and other MLAs?" asked Revanth.
He further asked why the phones of the MLAs were not seized by the police.
BJP-TRS plot in Dubbak, Huzurabad
He alleged that a similar strategy was adopted by both parties in the Dubbak by-election in 2020. "For instance, in the Dubbak election, some issue was created between Raghunandan Rao of BJP and Harish Rao of TRS. The TRS also alleged that Rao was distributing money. Rao was arrested by the police and the BJP karyakartas attacked the police. It was all their plot. By doing all this, the TRS created sympathy for the BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao," said Revanth.
He alleged that both parties adopted a similar plot in the Huzurabad by-election in 2021. "Even then, just before the elections, KCR attacked Eatala Rajender, creating sympathy for him. Even Eatala made an emotional speech. The election was once again polarised. Congress that could at least have got 40,000 votes did not get that also," said Revanth.
