Formula E race case: KTR refutes corruption charges, calls them `politically motivated’

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly refuted the corruption charges against him in the Formula E race case.

Terming allegations as baseless and politically motivated, KTR expressed full confidence in the Indian judiciary.

Speaking to the media at his Nandinagar residence, he criticized the Congress government for attempting to divert public attention through `false propaganda'.

Formula E case against is politically driven

“This Formula E case against me is politically driven and lacks substance. Despite knowing the baseless nature of the accusations, I appeared for the ACB inquiry as a law-abiding citizen. I will fight these cases legally and constitutionally,” KTR said.

KTR confirmed his commitment to cooperate with investigations, including appearances before the ACB and ED. “I have nothing to hide and will answer all questions. My integrity is my strength,” he asserted.

“As an Indian citizen who respects the Constitution and the law, I will use every right available to me to fight the baseless and politically motivated cases filed by Revanth Reddy,” said KTR.

“I had stated that I would appear for the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) inquiry with my lawyer. However, despite waiting for half an hour, the ACB officials hesitated to question me,” he said.

KTR criticized the Congress party for celebrating a mere dismissal of a quash petition in the High Court. “The High Court only dismissed the quash petition, yet Congress leaders rejoiced as if I’ve been sentenced or proven guilty of a crime. We will approach the Supreme Court, and I am confident of a fair trial there. I will continue my legal fight.”

“I appeared as a responsible citizen for the inquiry, but they disallowed my lawyer. They also leaked statements to the media, claiming things that Patnam Narender Reddy never said. It caused unnecessary harassment. I will approach the High Court tomorrow to ensure that questioning takes place in the presence of my lawyers. I am also seeking legal protection from these malicious actions,” KTR stated.

He also highlighted the Congress party’s alleged failure to deliver on its promises. “Instead of addressing the concerns of farmers and citizens, Congress is busy playing diversionary tactics. Their six guarantees remain unfulfilled, leaving farmers and pensioners in distress,” he said.

Formula E event aimed at promoting Hyderabad as a global hub for innovation

KTR reiterated that holding the Formula E event in Hyderabad was aimed at promoting the city as a global hub for innovation and sustainable technology. “Our vision is to position Hyderabad as a center for electronic vehicle manufacturing, which will create jobs and bring investment,” he explained.

KTR urged the media for factual reporting over sensationalism. He refuted the allegations regarding electoral bonds as tools for quid pro quo deals. “The Congress and BJP are two sides of the same coin, working hand-in-glove to mislead the public,” he remarked.

KTR racked up donations through electoral bonds, alleging Congress’s hypocrisy. “Greenko has donated to multiple parties, including BRS, Congress, BJP, TDP, and YSRCP. Why is Congress singling out BRS? Can Congress or Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy prove that Greenko received any special favors from BRS in return for their donations?”

Congress’s interest lies in Formula E

Expressing gratitude to the grassroots BRS leaders and workers across Telangana, KTR drew a sharp contrast between the priorities of BRS and Congress. “Congress’s interest lies in Formula E, while our interest lies in farmers. We talk about Rythu Bharosa (farmer support) while Revanth Reddy is busy with diversions. We know the kind of mischief he’s up to,” KTR remarked.

Meanwhile, he directed BRS leaders to expose Congress’s alleged diversionary tactics and focus on developmental issues like farmer welfare and pension disbursements. The KTR concluded with a firm declaration of his faith in the judicial system and commitment to Telangana’s progress, stating, “Truth will prevail, and we will continue to fight for the people of Telangana.”
