HC: BRS MLA Koneru Konappa requests quashing of FIR against him in Kagaznagar
The FIR was registered against Koneru Konappa and five of his followers for obstructing a meeting organised by the BSP

Hyderabad: On Monday, Koneru Konappa, sitting MLA of the BRS party from Sirpur Assembly Constituency, Sirpur Kagaznagar has filed a criminal petition seeking a direction to quash the proceedings in an FIR (232/2023) registered in Kagaznagar Town police station.
The FIR was registered against Koneru Konappa and five of his followers for obstructing a meeting organised by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) under the leadership of Dr RS Praveen Kumar, on November 12 at Sirpur Kagaznagar.
According to the de facto complainant Syed Fayeem of BSP, two campaigning vehicles belonging to Koneru Konappa tried to disturb the BSP meeting. When the BSP party leaders along with Dr Praveen Kumar requested the BRS party campaigning vehicle to move away from the BSP party meeting, they opposed vehemently and entered into an altercation which led to the registration of the FIR.
The petitioner sought quashing of the proceedings in the FIR registered against him and his followers, failing which, the petitioner ‘will be put to irreparable loss’ as he is contesting the ensuing Assembly Elections.
