By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 Nov 2020 10:03 AM GMTHyderabad: Sharpening its attack on KCR government, BJP on Saturday said TRS and AIMIM are contesting Family and Friend Municipal Corporation Private Limited election so that their corruption will remain intact.
"TRS and AIMIM are contesting Family and Friend Municipal Corporation Private Limited polls. We are here to fight against their corruption. GHMC budget is Rs 60,000 crore, but no one knows where that money goes," said Sambit Patra, BJP national spokesperson.
Patra said that a newly elected AIMIM MLA in Bihar refused to say Hindustan and instead, he said Bharat.
"A few years ago in Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi said that even if someone will put a knife on his neck, he will not say Bharat Mata and Bharat. They are now saying, at least, Bharat. But if they will win 50 assembly seats in the country they will stop saying Bharat. So people of Hyderabad and Hindustan should decide. Today they are not saying Hindustan and tomorrow they will stop saying even Bharat," he said.
Referring to a TV debate, Patra said Asaduddin Owaisi had once said that he will treat Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
"People are asking me why I am calling Hyderabad, Bhagyanagar. I will proudly say Bhagyanagar. This is my 'Bhagya' that I am in Bhagyanagar, of India. Bhagyanagar is one of the important places," said Patra.
Patra is in the city to campaign for the GHMC elections. For the last five days, BJP has lined up star campaigners from the centre to woo the voters.
Two union cabinet ministers, one former CM, BJP national president, BJP youth president, and OBC Morcha, and national general secretaries have visited Hyderabad for canvassing.
On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to conduct a roadshow in Hyderabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bharat Biotech to see the progress of the COVID vaccine.
On Sunday, union home minister Amit Shah is visiting the city. He will start his campaign from the Bhagyalakshmi Temple.
