By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 Aug 2024 1:04 PM GMTAmaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of misleading the public with false promises during the State Assembly and MP elections.
Alleging that the ruling TDP even went back on its promise of releasing unemployment allowances to the youth in AP, he said the unfulfilled promises have led to significant public dissatisfaction within just two and a half months of the new government taking office in AP.
On Tuesday, Jagan met with local bodiesā representatives from the Madugula, Anakapalli, and Chodavaram constituencies and assured them that the āgood work done by the YSRCP will not go unnoticedā and expressed confidence that the party will regain power in the next elections.
āYSRCP fulfilled 99% of promises it madeā
Addressing the gathering at the camp office here, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that 99 per cent of the promises made in the YSRCP manifesto were successfully implemented during his tenure, despite the severe financial challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. He emphasised that his government never sought excuses and treated the manifesto as a sacred text, akin to the Bhagavad Gita, Bible and the Quran.
He lamented the discontinuation/mismanagement of key programs such as Rythu Bharosa, Amma Vodi, zero-interest loans, Vidya Deevena (fee reimbursement), Matsyakara Bharosa and Vahana Mitra, which he said were consistently delivered during the previous government.
āCoalition in AP failed in education and health sectorsā
Jagan claimed that the TDP Coalition government in AP has failed in the education and health sectors.
āThe return of Janmabhoomi Committees and the neglect of crop insurance premiums have further compounded the challenges faced by the public,ā he added.
Jagan also raised concerns about the decline in law and order, accusing CM Chandrababu Naidu of fostering a governance style that encourages vendettas and destabilises rural communities. He warned that these injustices are fuelling public anger, which he believes will lead to a YSRCP victory in the next elections.
Mentioning his personal experiences, including 16 months of imprisonment, YS Jagan emphasised the importance of resilience and integrity in the face of adversity. āYSRCP, driven by values and trust, will continue to work with unwavering commitment to the people, condemning the habitual deception and lies of Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP,ā he told the gathering.
