Amaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to publicly apologise after the Supreme Court directed the formation of an impartial Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into claims of animal fat in Tirupati laddus.
Addressing a press conference at the Party Central Office in Tadepalli on Friday, Jagan said that the Supreme Court had exposed Naidu’s ‘true picture’ and had cancelled the SIT that Chandrababu Naidu had constituted.
“Chandrababu Naidu has completely defiled the sanctity and prestige of Tirumala. After committing several mistakes and being caught with the evidence, Naidu has no remorse. TTD EO, who was handpicked by CM Naidu himself, said adulterated ghee was never used in making laddu prasadam,” Jagan said.

‘TDP spreading misleading information on social media’
The former chief minister further said that the Supreme Court also cancelled the SIT appointed by Naidu on the laddu adulteration issue.
“If Naidu has any deference to God after the Supreme Court made such remarks, he needs to apologise to the public. He should ask Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy to forgive him for his error. Although he hasn’t done any of it, the TDP is also disseminating misleading information by making tweets on Twitter,” Jagan responded to his rival by displaying a few TDP social media messages.
The Supreme Court has made it clear that God should not be brought into politics. "It is evident from these (Supreme Court) comments and also judgements (sic) pronounced that whatever Chandrababu Naidu has been speaking, the Supreme Court, categorically reprimanded Naidu," he said.
A person who is in the capacity of chief minister is provoking religious sentiments for political malafide intent, Jagan said.
The YSRCP chief said, "Naidu does not have devotion or care about God. He can even use the Almighty for political gains. I am praying to God that this sin (Naidu's acts) should not fall on the people of Andhra Pradesh. It should be confined to the CM only and to the alliance that is carrying the burden of Naidu."
Giving the chronological order of the events at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the former chief minister said, the laddu adulteration allegations were aimed at political mileage, and they would degrade temples and prasadam.
According to him, during the previous regime, the ghee was rejected 18 times due to quality issues, while between 2014 and 2019, during Chandrababau Naidu's rule, the tankers were returned 14 times.
The Supreme Court has made strong comments on Naidu as it understood that Gods should not be dragged into politics, Jagan said.
Jagan slams deputy CM
Taking a jibe at deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan for preaching about Sanatana Dharma, the YSRCP chief said, “Does Pawan Kalyan actually know what Sanatana Dharma is? Chandrababu made that mistake in front of your eyes. Even a six-year-old kid is aware of it. If Chandrababu is speaking to reduce the sanctity of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the laddus and breaking the faith of a few crore people, you (Pawan) know everything and now are playing the same tune as Naidu.”
Jagan also said that Pawan Kalyan has no credibility to speak about Sanatana Dharma.
“If something wrong happened to God, how many excuses are there for not pointing it out? How can you talk about Sanatana Dharma? TTD has a robust procedure for procurement of goods and ghee. In what way is it correct for us to talk like that while reducing the sanctity of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy?” he asked.
The former chief minister also said that even after the Supreme Court’s objections to the claims, the court pointing out CM Naidu’s mistake and cancelling the SIT, there is no change in Chandrababu’s attitude.
“Naidu is lying again and again to make a lie true and playing with the sanctity of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. God will teach him a lesson for making unnecessary hue and cry and making allegations of adulteration of the Tirumala Laddu Prasadam,” he added.
