Amaravati: YSRCP president and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that the CAG report has exposed large-scale financial indiscipline by the ruling coalition TDP government.
He also claimed that the coalition government had borrowed Rs 3.2 lakh crore in just two years, almost equal to the Rs 3.31 lakh crore raised during the entire five-year tenure of his government.
Addressing the media at Tadepalli, Jagan said there was no clarity on how the massive borrowings were being spent, even as key pre-poll promises such as the ‘Super Six’ remained unimplemented and State revenues declined.
Borrowings without clarity, says Jagan
Jagan said the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) findings had validated the YSRCP’s consistent charge that the coalition government was mismanaging the State’s finances.
“Borrowings have risen sharply, fiscal deficit is increasing and revenues are falling. There is no transparency on where the money has gone,” he alleged.
He accused the ruling dispensation of corruption in sectors ranging from sand and land to mines and liquor, stating that this was the only explanation for declining revenues despite heavy borrowing.
Assembly session ‘failed to address public issues’
Referring to the recently concluded 16-day Assembly budget session, Jagan said the House was used to ‘spread false propaganda and level baseless allegations’ against the Opposition while ignoring key public-interest issues.
He claimed that the coalition partners devoted the session to mutual praise and targeting the YSRCP, without responding to questions on financial management, welfare schemes and governance.
‘CM Naidu politicising Tirupati laddu controversy’
Jagan also targeted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the Tirupati laddu issue, alleging that the government was politicising the matter while ignoring serious questions related to ghee procurement and temple administration.
He alleged irregularities in the tendering process, acceptance of rejected tankers and a steep hike in ghee prices from Rs 351 to Rs 761 per kg, calling it a ‘deliberate attempt to benefit a select group.’
The former Chief Minister further alleged negligence in temple management, referring to recent incidents including a stampede at Tirupati and another episode at Kadiri. He claimed that questions raised by the Opposition regarding alleged ghee adulteration and links between suppliers went unanswered.
Women’s safety and welfare schemes
Criticising the government’s claims on women’s safety made during International Women’s Day events, Jagan alleged that several cases of atrocities involving ruling party legislators had surfaced in places such as Railway Koduru, Amudalavalasa, Guntur East and Sativedu, and that complaints were not acted upon promptly.
He contrasted this with his government’s record on women’s empowerment, stating that during his tenure, reservations were implemented, financial assistance was extended, bank linkages were facilitated and women were encouraged to partner with multinational companies.

Farmers, students and alleged welfare cuts
Jagan alleged that farmers were facing hardships due to non-payment of MSP and the absence of crop insurance under the coalition government.
He said welfare delivery mechanisms such as Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) functioned effectively during his tenure.
He further claimed that several promised schemes, including Aada Bidda Nidhi, unemployment allowance and expanded pensions, had not been implemented. According to him, beneficiary numbers were reduced under existing schemes such as Annadata Sukhibhava, Talliki Vandanam and free gas cylinder distribution.
Alleging deterioration in public health and hostel hygiene, he said students were being hospitalised due to poor conditions, contrasting it with improvements made under the Nadu-Nedu programme during his administration.
Jagan maintained that despite repeated questions from the Opposition on financial accountability, welfare implementation and governance standards, the coalition government failed to provide clear answers during the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session.
