Jagan govt orchestrated Konaseema violence to divert attention from Kakinada Dalit murder: Atchannaidu

Amaravati: TDP state president K. Atchannaidu on Tuesday accused the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Government and the YSRCP party of orchestrating Konaseema violence so as to divert mounting public attention from the sensational Kakinada Dalit murder. Atchannaidu said the Jagan Reddy party rioters and arsonists burnt down the houses of their Minister and MLA even as the police watched the show as silent spectators.

The TDP leaders said the Chief Minister became desperate as his party MLC's involvement in Dalit murder and his Government's failures on all fronts brought a very bad name to him. Moreover, Jagan was greatly worried over Chandrababu Naidu's Badude Badudu campaign getting a rousing response from all sections against the increased taxes and skyrocketing prices, he alleged.

Addressing a press conference here, Atchannaidu asserted that a YSRCP activist named Annam Sai was responsible for Amalapuram violence. There were photos showing Annam Sai hugging Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and felicitating Minister Pinipe Viswaroop. Yet, the Home Minister and other Ministers made baseless allegations that the TDP had triggered the tensions. Atchannaidu asked why the police allowed such huge gatherings if section 144 was in force in the Konaseema district headquarters town. No outside force was brought to control the crowds. When rioters were going on the rampage, the SP was moving around without a cap and other safety equipment. There was only one police station in Amalapuram and the CI has been on leave for over two weeks with no one in charge appointed for the police station.

The TDP leader demanded the Government to explain why no police bandobast or protection was given at the Minister and Mummidivaram MLA's houses when the rioters were arriving to burn them. The police took care only to evacuate the family members of the dignitaries to safer places. "The circumstantial evidence amply proved the undeniable conspiracy hatched by the CM and his party men in the burning of the houses of the Minister and the MLA", said Atchannaidu.

The TDP leader pointed out that within hours of Amalapuram burnings, social media went viral with comments that the ruling YSRCP caused the violence for diverting public attention.
