Amaravati: TDP national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu slammed Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy and accused him of supporting the killers of Y.S Vivekananda Reddy.
Mr. Naidu said it was deplorable that the Chief Minister was extending support and patronage to the killers of his paternal uncle. The accused persons are trying to threaten and intimidate CBI officers who are investigating the case, the TDP leader alleged.
Addressing a meeting on Thursday, the TDP chief recalled how they had tried to stain TDP's image with the blood of Vivekananda Reddy. But now, the truth has come out after the CBI took up an in-depth investigation following a court petition filed by Viveka's daughter and Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister Sunitha Reddy, Mr. Naidu added.
He said YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy's name had surfaced during the CBI probe. "The local CI was informed about Viveka's death over the phone. He was told that it was a fatal heart attack. When he came to the spot along with three constables, they were not allowed to go inside. Only the CI was allowed to take a look at the body," Mr. Naidu said.
The TDP chief accused Jagan of indulging in "murder politics" to terrify and silence the people. "The YSRCP regime has stooped to the level of starting character assassination against even Vivekananda Reddy who was brutally killed three years ago. They were launching counter-attacks to bury the truth behind the Viveka murder," he said.
Mr. Naidu reminded the CM of his responsibility to place the facts before the public. The CBI probe has ascertained that people came from the hospital of YS Bharati Reddy's father and they stitched the wounds on Viveka's body without any authority. Later, bright flowers were placed to hide the bloodstains inside Viveka's house, the TDP leader alleged.
