Jagan will not stay in power for full five years: Naidu

Amravati: TDP national president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday predicted that Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy would not stay in power in Andhra Pradesh for the full five-year term.

Mr. Naidu said the AP government was heavily dependent on loans that nobody was coming forward to give. The state's image has taken such a severe beating that the Jagan government is finding it difficult to last the full term, he alleged.

On the second day of Rayalaseema's 'Badude Badudu' campaign, the TDP chief visited Kurnool and addressed party activists of the united Kurnool district. He mounted a scathing attack on the ruling YSRCP, saying that the CM, ministers, and their MLAs used benamis to loot the state.

He recalled how all individuals and national and international institutions competed to invest in AP during the TDP regime. Now, everybody was unwilling to give loans because it was not safe any longer, the TDP chief said and added that while all previous CMs had taken Rs. 3.14 lakh crore loans, Jagan took loans worth Rs. 8 lakh crore, a burden that the people would not be able to bear in the future.

Mr. Naidu said Jagan gave the Rajya Sabha seat nomination to Vijay Sai Reddy because he was his A2 (accused 2) in the CBI cases. If Vijay Sai had complied with the CBI, Jagan Reddy would go to jail, he added.

The TDP chief further said Jagan had promised special status for the state if he was given 25 MPs. The people gave him 22 MPs in 2019 but instead of fighting for special status, he started selling Rajya Sabha seats for personal reasons, Mr. Naidu alleged. He said the CM should realise that AP was not his jagir to do whatever he liked.

Expressing concern, Mr. Naidu said NTR founded the TDP unable to bear the Delhi leaders' insults about AP at that time. Jagan has no knowledge of history, he said, and added that the CM harmed 40 lakh construction workers, farmers, tenant farmers, coolies, and others. Three to four farmers are dying of suicide every day in the state, Mr. Naidu said.

He claimed that the CM and his MLAs were unable to face the wrath of the people. As a result, Jagan changed "Gadapa Gadapaku YSRCP" to "Gadapa Gadapaku Government" (every house). After a public backlash, Jagan has now started the bus yatra. The next option will be to conduct "Gali Yatra" (rallies in the air), the TDP chief said.

Mr. Naidu described Jagan as "just a kid" before the TDP and said the CM's false cases would not deter the TDP cadres. Many CMs have come and gone but no Chief Minister derived sadistic pleasure by inflicting pain on people like Jagan, he said.
