Jubilee Hills by-poll: CM Revanth says BRS, BJP share `Fevicol bond; KTR hits back with `420 promises, zero delivery’ barb

Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills Assembly by-poll on Nov 11; 4L voters to exercise franchise

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills by-election campaign reached a feverish pitch on Friday, with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) exchanging sharp political barbs.

Both leaders accused each other’s parties of misleading people and obstructing the state’s development.

`BRS and BJP are glued with Fevicol bond’

Launching the Congress campaign at Vengal Rao Nagar, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were working hand in glove despite claiming to be opponents.

“BRS and BJP share a Fevicol bond. They attack each other in public but secretly coordinate to stall Telangana’s progress,” he charged.

He accused K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), KTR, and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of running propaganda against the state government. “BJP’s success in eight Lok Sabha seats last year is proof of their covert understanding,” he remarked.

‘BJP blocking state’s progress’

Revanth targeted Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accusing them of obstructing major urban projects. “They have not brought a single rupee from Delhi. Instead, they are blocking the Musi River rejuvenation and Metro Rail expansion projects,” the Chief Minister said.

He mocked BJP leaders for threatening to “carpet bomb” Jubilee Hills. “They roam around with loud slogans but no substance. People know their double game,” he quipped.

Appeal for a development vote

Revanth urged voters to choose Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, promising all-round development of Jubilee Hills. “After the Secunderabad Cantonment by-election, Congress launched projects worth Rs 4,000 crore. Jubilee Hills too will see rapid progress under Congress rule,” he said.

He also vowed to take personal responsibility for the constituency’s growth, with the support of Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and the Congress team. “This election is not about sentiment but about progress,” Revanth appealed.

KTR retorts, `420 promises, zero delivery'

Hitting back during a roadshow at Shaikpet, KTR launched a blistering attack on the Congress government, accusing it of “betraying every section of society.”

“In two years, Congress has delivered nothing. They sold dreams and now survive by selling lies,” KTR said, campaigning for Maganti Sunitha, wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath.

He alleged that the government had reduced Telangana to a “state of scams and commissions.” “From liquor deals to land settlements, corruption is everywhere. Ministers are fighting for kickbacks instead of serving people,” KTR charged.

‘Six guarantees become six deceptions’

Mocking the Congress’s flagship welfare promises, KTR said not a single one was implemented. “The Six Guarantees have turned into Six Grand Deceptions. No Rs 4,000 pension, no Rs 2,500 youth allowance, no scooters for girls. Even the 20,000 litres of free water given under KCR’s rule has been stopped,” he said.

He also accused the government of neglecting festivals like Bathukamma, Ramzan, and Christmas, saying “even the cultural spirit has been eroded under Congress rule.”

‘Revanth a symbol of arrogance’

Escalating his attack, KTR described the Chief Minister as “a symbol of arrogance and deceit.” “If people vote for Congress again, Revanth Reddy will think he can win without doing any work,” KTR said.

He accused the government of bulldozing poor people’s homes, destroying industries, and choking the livelihoods of small traders and auto drivers. “This is not Indiramma Rajyam, this is intimidation raj,” he declared.

‘Let Jubilee Hills Speak for Telangana’

KTR urged voters to teach the ruling party a lesson by electing Maganti Sunitha. “If the four lakh voters of Jubilee Hills teach Congress a lesson, the message will reach four crore people in Telangana,” he said. “Take their money if offered, but vote only for the Car symbol,” he urged.

Predicting a political turnaround, KTR added, “Jubilee Hills will mark the beginning of BRS’s comeback and KCR’s return as Chief Minister. The countdown for this corrupt Congress government starts here.”

Battle for Jubilee Hills

The by-election on November 11 was necessitated by the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath (BRS). His wife, Maganti Sunitha, is contesting for BRS, while Naveen Yadav represents the Congress, and Lankala Deepak Reddy is fielded by the BJP.

With Revanth Reddy and KTR leading high-voltage campaigns, Jubilee Hills has become the epicentre of Telangana’s political tussle, setting the stage for a crucial verdict ahead of the next state polls.
