Jubilee Hills bypoll: KTR demands EC probe into ‘23,000 fake votes’, claims several addresses don’t exist
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) accused the Congress government in Telangana of adding 23,000 new votes within a short span while deleting over 12,000 existing ones.
KTR claimed that the government resorted to widespread manipulation of electoral rolls ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election, claiming it was treating democracy ‘with utter contempt.’

Congress distributed voter ID cards to minors
He described the pattern of voter addition/deletion as ‘highly suspicious.’ “Such abnormal growth in the voter list raises several doubts,” KTR remarked.
He further charged that the Congress candidate personally distributed voter ID cards, including to underage minors, in violation of election norms.
KTR questions over Chief Minister’s role in voter ID distribution
KTR questioned the involvement of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud in programs related to voter list distribution.
“What connection do they have with such administrative tasks? Why were their photos displayed on the voter ID distribution materials?” he asked.
He said that even the Election Commission had registered a case over the illegal distribution of fake voter ID cards linked to the Congress candidate.
“Fake votes everywhere”: BRS claims shocking findings
According to KTR, BRS teams inspected several addresses listed in the voter rolls and found large-scale irregularities.
At Sanskruthi Apartments, he said, 43 votes were listed, but the apartment owners denied any link to those names. In Booth No. 125, a tiny 80-square-yard house reportedly had 23 registered voters.
“When we verified the addresses, many did not even exist on the ground,” KTR said, pointing out that in one case, ‘an entire house number mentioned in the list was found missing.’
He further alleged that a Congress leader’s residence contained 32 bogus votes, while some individuals were found registered in multiple constituencies.
‘Duplicate and family votes’ under scrutiny
Citing one example, KTR said Srinivas Reddy from Sircilla discovered that his vote had been fraudulently registered in Jubilee Hills without his consent. “He was shocked to learn that someone had used his name to create a fake vote,” KTR noted.
The BRS leader also revealed that the Congress candidate’s own brother, Venkat Praveen Yadav, was found to have three separate voter registrations.
“If the candidate’s own family has three votes, how can the election be fair?” he asked.
#Hyderabad:"How is this a fair #election when the #Congress candidate #NaveenYadav Yadav's own brother Praveen Kumar Yadav has 3 fraudulent votes? We demand justice. We no longer trust the Election Commission, it seems to be colluding with @BJP4Telangana & Congress.Chief… pic.twitter.com/qqZ8TYoBpI

‘Officials being misused by Congress’
KTR alleged that the ruling party was using lower-level government officials to manipulate the electoral process.
“Congress has converted state machinery into its election tool,” he said, adding that ‘the extent of the irregularities shows a coordinated conspiracy.’
BRS demands EC action within 24 hours
KTR said the BRS had already submitted a formal complaint to the Election Commission (EC), but there had been no response even after 24 hours.
He listed three key demands:
- A comprehensive probe into the 23,000 newly added votes
- Immediate deletion of fake and duplicate entries
- Punitive action against officials involved in the irregularities.
“If the EC fails to respond, we will approach the High Court tomorrow,” KTR warned.
‘Rahul Gandhi must speak on Telangana vote theft’
Turning his criticism toward the Congress leadership, KTR demanded that Rahul Gandhi respond to the alleged ‘voter fraud’ in Telangana.
“Rahul Gandhi lectures about democracy in Bihar while his own party in Telangana is winning elections with stolen votes,” he said. He urged Gandhi to take note of how “Congress leaders, with the help of officials, are openly rigging the voter rolls.”
“If Rahul Gandhi truly believes in the Constitution he brandishes at rallies, he must act against the fraud happening under his own party’s government,” KTR asserted.
‘Election Commission’s credibility at stake’
KTR concluded that the credibility of the Election Commission was now under serious question. “Our party workers exposed these irregularities in just two days. How is it that an entire government machinery and the EC failed to notice?” he asked.
He appealed to the Central Election Commission to intervene immediately and conduct an independent investigation into the allegations. “Democracy is being mocked in Telangana, and silence from the Election Commission will only deepen the mistrust,” he said.
