Jubilee Hills bypoll will be referendum on CM Revanth’s misgovernance, failures: KTR

Hyderabad: BRS Working President and former Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday stated that the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election would serve as a referendum on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s ‘corruption, arrogance, and deceit.’

Addressing a gathering at Telangana Bhavan, where senior BJP leader from Shaikpet division Cherka Mahesh joined the BRS, KTR said the bypoll outcome would determine Telangana’s direction and expose the Congress government’s failures.

‘Car builds, bulldozer destroys’

Drawing a sharp contrast between the two parties, KTR said the people of Jubilee Hills were faced with a symbolic choice. “This election is between the car that builds and the bulldozer that destroys,” he declared.

“Jubilee Hills voters must decide whether they want the car that stands for development or the bulldozer that demolishes poor people’s homes,” he said, accusing the Congress of crushing the very people it promised to uplift.

‘Congress borrowed Rs 2.3 lakh crore, built nothing’

KTR accused the Congress government of financial recklessness and failure to deliver on its election promises.

“For two years, they haven’t built a single house or laid a single brick. Yet, they’ve borrowed Rs 2.3 lakh crore,” he alleged.

He charged that the government was diverting the borrowed money to influence voters in the by-election.

“They’re spending looted funds to buy votes in Jubilee Hills,” KTR said, warning that people were furious over the unfulfilled promises of pensions, housing, and fee reimbursement.

‘Buying votes with corruption money’

The BRS leader alleged that the Congress was offering Rs 10,000 per vote in the bypoll. “The same money looted from the public is now being used to purchase their votes,” he said.

“If the Congress loses Jubilee Hills, it will be forced to deliver on its promises. Only then will people get the Rs 4,000 pension and other welfare schemes,” KTR asserted.

‘BJP has no relevance in Telangana’

Taking a dig at the BJP, KTR said the saffron party had become irrelevant in Telangana’s political landscape.

“Voting for Congress or BJP is like throwing your vote into a drain,” he remarked.

‘Revanth misleading people on BC Quota’

KTR accused the Chief Minister of intentionally misleading the public on the issue of BC reservations. “He knew that reservation laws must be enacted in Parliament, not the Assembly. Still, he staged a drama to mislead people,” he said.

‘Revanth betrayed Azharuddin, Muslims

The BRS leader also alleged that Revanth Reddy had betrayed former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin by reneging on a promise to make him an MLC.

“Even Muslims were deceived on the issue of burial grounds. Cheating has become Revanth Reddy’s nature. He himself once said that people believe those who cheat them, that’s the foundation of his politics,” KTR charged.

‘Jubilee Hills will shape Telangana’s Future’

KTR concluded by urging voters to make Jubilee Hills the turning point in Telangana’s political journey.

“This by-election is not just about one seat; it’s about the future direction of the state. Choose wisely, the car that builds or the bulldozer that destroys,” he appealed.
