Karnataka election results will have no bearing on Telangana says KTR

Hyderabad: The ruling BRS party in Telangana said the Karnataka Assembly election results will not have any impact on the state. The party expressed gratitude to the people of Karnataka for rejecting ā€œugly and divisive politics,ā€ while also congratulating the newly-elected Congress government in the southern state.

In a tweet, BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao wished the Congress party in Karnataka, which is set to form the government in the state. ā€œJust the way ā€˜The Kerala Storyā€™ failed to amuse people of Karnataka, similarly Karnataka election results will have NO bearing on Telangana. Thanks to the people of Karnataka for rejecting ugly & divisive politics. Let Hyderabad and Bengaluru compete healthily for investments & creating infrastructure for the greater good of India. My best wishes to the new Congress Govt in Karnataka,ā€ KTR tweeted.

As per the Election Commission website, the Congress party has won 122 seats and is leading in 14 others. The BRS party, led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, had reportedly extended support to the JD(S), their friendly party in the fray, and did not field any candidates in the Karnataka Assembly elections.

Telangana finance minister Harish Rao Thanneeru also took to Twitter to congratulate the newly-elected government in Karnataka, saying ā€œThis is The South India Story - free from BJP evident from Karnatakaā€™s mandate and it will remain so now and always. BJPā€™s downfall has started from South India and their account will be closed everywhere and will not even win deposits in Telangana. Best wishes to the newly elected Government in Karnataka.ā€
