Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Monday filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) against BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay for alleging that KCR is indulging in black magic and tantric poojas. Along with their complaint, the TRS submitted newspaper clippings of Bandi Sanjay's statements as proof.
The TRS denied the allegations made by Sanjay. "We deny the allegations as they are false and concocted in order to create and spread hatred among the people, most particularly among the voters of Munugode Assembly constituency, by depicting KCR as a non-believer of god and believer of devils and demons," read the TRS party complaint signed by Soma Bharath Kumar, TRS party general secretary.
Further, Soma Bharath said the "actions and utterances" of the BJP leaders were not only criminal and triable offences under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code but also under the Representation of People Act.
The complaint further read, "These two BJP leaders (Bandi Sanjay and Union minister Nirmala Seetharaman) have also violated the code of conduct which came into effect on 3 October in the wake of Munugode by-election. The utterances of these two leaders are severely objectionable and they need to be prosecuted and they need to restrain from speaking on the allegations hereafter."
What Bandi Sanjay said
During a press meet on 8 October, Bandi Sanjay and Union finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman alleged that KCR has been indulging in black magic and tantric poojas. Sanjay alleged that KCR had no faith in god and he believes in tantric swamis. He said KCR changed the name of TRS to BRS on the advice of some tantric swami.
Sanjay further appealed that those who believe in Vedas, worship gods, and who believe in the well-being of the society should protect Telangana from KCR's "Kshudra poojas."
