KTR accuses Congress of intimidating Jubilee Hills voters, misusing welfare schemes for politics

Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao alleged that the Congress party is intimidating people by threatening to stop welfare schemes if they do not vote for them.

He claimed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is conspiring to win the Jubilee Hills by-election by distributing the massive black money extorted from builders in the name of HYDRAA.

CM Revanth resorting to shortcuts

KTR criticised that in 22 months of governance, Revanth Reddy has not done a single good deed for the people and is now resorting to shortcuts to somehow secure victory in the Jubilee Hills by-poll.

Addressing the Rahmath Nagar division workers’ meeting of Jubilee Hills constituency at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, KTR said people are disillusioned with Congress, which has failed to fulfil its promises and is shifting blame onto debts for its own inefficiency.

Referring to CM Revanth’s recent visit to Ganesh immersion, KTR said the public did not pay him any attention – proof that the government is disconnected from the people.

‘Voting for Congress is license for government to demolish homes’

KTR asked whether ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ means demolishing homes.

He expressed anguish that Sardar, a BRS worker, was driven to suicide after his house was demolished out of political vendetta for not joining Congress. He recalled that a woman named Buchamma from Kukatpally took her own life, fearing HYDRAA would demolish her house. He warned that a vote for Congress in the Jubilee Hills by-election would be equivalent to giving the government a license to demolish homes.

KTR demanded to know whether HYDRAA would dare to demolish the illegal house built by CM Revanth Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, in Durgam Cheruvu.

He lambasted the Congress government for exploiting the poor with arrogance of power, while sparing the rich. He appealed to the people of Jubilee Hills to vote for the ‘Car’ symbol and teach a lesson to the arrogance of Revanth Reddy and Congress.

‘CM Revanth working for BJP’

KTR urged minorities to recognise the reality that CM Revanth is acting like a ‘BJP Chief Minister’, treating Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his ‘elder brother’ and working under his guidance. He pointed out the irony that while Congress MP Rahul Gandhi strongly opposes the BJP, PM Modi and central agencies like CBI, CM Revanth is acting in complete contradiction to Congress ideology.

He said a vote for CM Revanth-led Congress is essentially a vote for PM Modi and BJP.

He criticised Congress for abandoning welfare and development schemes for minorities that the BRS government had implemented over the past decade. For the first time in history, Congress formed a government without a single minority minister.

‘Congress deceiving minorities’

KTR accused Congress of deceiving minorities by failing to nominate an MLC and cancelling programmes like Shaadi Mubarak and minority residential schools. He said not even a single minority student has been given a scholarship so far.

Against the promise of a Rs 4,000 crore minority budget, Congress has delivered nothing, while the BRS government has spent Rs 12,000 crore on minorities over 10 years. He lashed out at Congress for using Muslims merely as a vote bank for 60 years.

‘People despise Congress for fake promises’

KTR attacked CM Revanth for failing to increase pensions, neglecting Rythu Bandhu payments, and not providing the promised Rs 2,500 monthly support for girl children.

He accused him of sowing discord between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, and said people now deeply despise Congress for its fake promises. He charged that Revanth is trying to escape blame by pointing to debts while hiding his government’s incompetence.

Remembering late leader Maganti Gopinath, KTR said this by-election was unwanted and unfortunate.

He recalled that nobody expected Gopinath’s sudden demise and noted that the personal struggles of leaders are often invisible to the outside world. He urged the people of Jubilee Hills to stand by Gopinath’s family, who had supported the public in difficult times and done much good work.

‘BRS is in a stronger position than Congress’

He said multiple surveys confirm that BRS is in a stronger position than Congress across divisions in the constituency.

Calling on workers to campaign with greater vigour for a bumper majority, KTR reminded that Hyderabad had fully backed BRS in the last election, and urged Jubilee Hills voters to replicate that spirit, sending a message across the country that Hyderabad remains a ‘Gulabi Adda’ (pink bastion).

KTR directed workers to reach every household by September 14, reminding voters of Gopinath’s services and achievements. He instructed that missing or unlisted BRS supporter votes must be tracked and registered immediately.

“Only if we fight like a battle can we secure victory,” he told party workers.
