Allu Arjun Arrest: KTR, Bandi Sanjay condemn the arrest

Hyderabad: The arrest of actor Allu Arjun in connection with the stampede at Sandhya 70 MM Theatre has drawn strong reactions from political leaders. K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the handling of the incident by the Congress-led government, emphasizing the need for dignity and proper conduct in such cases.

KTR Criticizes Governmentā€™s Handling

KTR, who is the Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), condemned the treatment of Allu Arjun during the investigation. In a tweet, he said,

ā€œArrest of National Award-winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers! I totally sympathize with the victims of the stampede, but who failed really?ā€

KTR highlighted that while accountability is essential, treating a celebrated actor as a ā€œcommon criminalā€ was uncalled for. He further stated:

ā€œThere is always space for respect & dignified conduct. I strongly condemn the high-handed behaviour of the government.ā€

KTR also drew a comparison, questioning why similar accountability was not sought in other cases.

ā€œGoing by the same perverse logic, Revanth Reddy should be arrested for causing the death of two innocent people who died in Hyderabad because of the fear psychosis caused by Hydra.ā€

Bandi Sanjay Questions Arrest Procedures

BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed outrage over the manner of Allu Arjunā€™s arrest. He stated that the actor was taken from his home without being given time to change, calling it ā€œa disgraceful act of mismanagement and disrespect.ā€

In his tweet, he said:

ā€œA star of his stature, who brought global recognition to Indian cinema, deserved better treatment.ā€

While acknowledging the tragedy of the stampede, Bandi Sanjay blamed the Congress government for poor crowd management at the event.

ā€œThe tragic death of a woman in the stampede at Sandhya Theatre is deeply unfortunate, but it only underscores the Congress governmentā€™s failure to manage the massive crowd.ā€

He added that the overwhelming turnout was a result of Allu Arjunā€™s global popularity following Pushpa: The Rise.

ā€œThe real failure lies in the Congress governmentā€™s inability to ensure proper arrangements for such a high-profile event. This negligence and mishandling are unacceptable. Icon Star and his fans deserve dignity, not chaos.ā€

Background of the Incident

The incident occurred during the premiere show of Pushpa: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Chikkadpally. The stampede claimed the life of a woman and injured her son. A case was filed against Allu Arjun, his security staff, and the theatre management for their alleged roles in the tragedy.

As the investigation continues, the arrest of Allu Arjun remains a point of contention, drawing widespread attention and sparking debates over accountability and the treatment of public figures.
