The BRS working president said that in his recent speeches, Revanth Reddy said that there is a conspiracy to topple his government
By Sistla Dakshina Murthy Published on 10 April 2024 10:49 AM GMTHyderabad: āOur goal is not to topple the Congress government in Telangana. Since he is unable to keep his word, chief minister A Revanth Reddy is aware of his shortcomings. Instead of focusing on phone tapping, the latter should focus on āwater tappingā as drinking water is being supplied to the public through water tankers in several parts of the state,ā said Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao.
KTR spoke at the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency held on Wednesday. Addressing the party cadres, the BRS working president said that in his recent speeches, Revanth Reddy said that there is a conspiracy to topple his government. After the Parliament elections, Revanth Reddy would shift his loyalties to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with 30 Congress MLAs, he said.
In the last decade, prime minister Narendra Modi has toppled nearly eight governments in the country. Modi is unable to outlive anybody. The catchphrase of Modi is āif there is an opposition, it should be in the pocket or it should be in jail.ā Revanth is reportedly getting ready to leap out of fear, according to KTR.
āBRS addressed all issues in its decadeā
āWe want the Congress government to last for five years in the state and implement 420 promises. Revanth Reddy has no intelligence to increase the wealth of the state. If they fail to implement all the assured poll promises, the BRS will chase and hunt them. We will gather the support of all the people in the state and then dethrone the Congress from power,ā he said. Coming down heavily on the Congress government, KTR said the decades-rule of the BRS in the state had resolved the issues pertaining to power, and water for both drinking and irrigation needs.
āEvery household benefited from the welfare schemes implemented by the BRS government. The Congress party was given an opportunity this time. To gain power, Revanth Reddy made over 420 promises,ā he said. KTR recalled that when Revanth Reddy became chief minister on December 9, he stated he would sign the loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh and promised to create employment for two lakh youth. As a result, over 420 promises were made and not even a single promise was implemented to the farmers and there is no mention of the implementation of loan waiver for the farmers, he added.
KTR on religion
KTR also made it clear that Lord Rama is worshipped by all and they donāt have any issues with it. The issue is only with the ideology of the BJP and it should be dethroned from power for making politics with Lord Rama, he said. "If the BJP is genuinely dedicated to Telanganaās growth. Why did it not contribute even a single rupee to Bhadrachalamās development? Should Ayodhya be the exclusive development? Why is there such bias in favour of Lord Rama temples all around the nation? Although the BRS restored the Yadadri temple, we never exploited it for political purposes,ā KTR said.
