KTR sends legal notice to TPCC chief Mahesh Goud over phone tapping allegations

Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has issued legal notices to TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, calling his allegations on phone tapping baseless and defamatory.

Allegations politically motivated, says KTR

KTR accused the Congress leadership of deliberately stirring controversy to divert public attention from its governance failures. He stated that the phone tapping issue was being sensationalized without any credible evidence. "These are disgraceful and false allegations made without proof, solely to mislead the public," KTR said.

Demand for unconditional apology

Terming the statements as defamatory, KTR demanded an unconditional apology from Mahesh Kumar Goud. He also warned that the BRS would pursue legal action if such character assassination attempts continued. ā€œThis is a clear case of defamation. We will not tolerate such irresponsible political behavior,ā€ he added.

Congress using diversion tactics, claims KTR

According to KTR, the Congress government, unable to implement its six guarantees and election promises, is resorting to "attention diversion tactics" like reviving the phone tapping controversy to manipulate voters ahead of local elections.

BRS vows to fight back legally

KTR emphasized that the BRS respects the law and has cooperated with judicial proceedings even in politically motivated cases. However, he stated that the party would not stay silent if its leaders were targeted without cause. ā€œIf such cheap political drama continues, we’ll take this battle to the courts,ā€ he warned.

Focus on Governance, not False Propaganda

KTR also advised the Congress government to shift its focus back to public welfare and governance, rather than engaging in malicious campaigns against opposition leaders. ā€œIt’s time to stop the propaganda and start delivering on promises. The people deserve better,ā€ he said.
