Hyderabad: Telangana IT and industries minister K.T Rama Rao has served a legal notice to BJP state president Bandi Sanjay demanding that the BJP leader offer an unconditional apology within 48 hours for making unfounded allegations against the ministers. If the unconditional apology does not come forth, a case of defamation will be filed, the notice maintained.
During his Praja Sangrama Yatra in Mahabubnagar district on Wednesday, the BJP state president had alleged that the negligence of the state government and the mistakes of KTR's alleged benami company had forced 27 intermediate students to die by suicide.
"You, being a public figure, enjoy wide reach and popularity amongst the general public. Therefore, as an elected sitting Member of Parliament, you are at all times under an obligation to act in a bona fide manner and conform to a high standard of integrity. In view of the false allegations made against my client and the attempts to malign his reputation, Bandi Sanjay is entitled for legal action, including payment for damages and compensation. Also, to extend unconditional apology within 48 hours," said KTR's lawyers.
On Wednesday KTR had warned Bandi Sanjay of legal action for making baseless allegations. "BS Kumar, if you don't stop this ludicrous, baseless & irresponsible allegations, I'll be constrained to take legal action," KTR had tweeted.
The TRS working president demanded that the BJP leader either prove his allegation or publicly apologise. "If you have an iota of evidence to prove what you allege, please put it in public domain or else apologise publicly for this BS rhetoric," wrote KTR.
