KTR slams Rahul Gandhi’s ‘silence’ on Telangana govt’s treatment of minorities, ‘BJP-style bulldozer rule’
KTR criticised the Congress government for not allocating any of the six MLC vacancies to minority candidates

Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday accused Leader of the Opposition of Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and the Congress government of betraying Telangana’s minorities and enabling ‘BJP-style bulldozer governance’ under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Speaking at a gathering at the Reliance Jubilee Gated Community, Shaikpet, Jubilee Hills, KTR demanded that Rahul Gandhi explain his party’s actions in the state.
Rahul Gandhi’s ‘silence’ questioned
“Rahul Gandhi owes an explanation to the people of Telangana. How can he stay silent when his own Chief Minister is demolishing homes in Hyderabad? How can he tolerate a Congress government that has ignored minorities and misled every section of society?” KTR asked, highlighting what he called Congress’s double standards on governance and social justice.
‘Congress ignored minority candidates for MLC posts’
KTR criticised the Congress government for not allocating any of the six MLC vacancies to minority candidates.
“This is shameful and exposes Congress’s hypocrisy. Rahul Gandhi’s silence confirms complicity,” he said, calling it the first Congress government in Telangana’s history without minority representation.
KTR alleged Congress-BJP nexus
The BRS leader also accused Congress of colluding with the BJP.
“In Telangana, Congress and BJP are two sides of the same coin. Revanth Reddy is working hand in glove with the BJP. Congress leaders coordinate with BJP MPs, and ministers award contracts to BJP-linked companies. They brand strong regional parties like BRS as their ‘B-team’ to hide their own alliance,” KTR claimed.
BRS vs Congress: A tale of two governments
Contrasting BRS’s decade-long governance with Congress’s two-year rule, KTR said, “In just two years, Congress has broken promises, destroyed livelihoods and deceived communities — farmers, students, employees, women, and minorities alike. They built their power on lies, not performance.”
He recalled Hyderabad’s transformation under BRS: “From power cuts and civic chaos, we delivered 24-hour power supply and made Hyderabad a global city. Under Congress, that progress has collapsed.”
KTR highlighted BRS welfare initiatives
KTR highlighted welfare measures for minorities, including 204 minority residential schools and a Rs 20 lakh overseas scholarship scheme. “Thousands of students from these institutions are now doctors and engineers. That’s real empowerment, not Congress’s tokenism,” he said.
Appeal to voters ahead of Jubilee Hills polls
Urging citizens to reject Congress’s rule, KTR said, “Every voter must compare ten years of BRS progress with two years of Congress betrayal and vote wisely.” He concluded by urging voters to elect Maganti Sunitha from Jubilee Hills on the BRS car symbol, saying, “The future of Telangana belongs to development, not deception.”
