`Lies, manipulated videos, fabricated images: Minister Sridhar Babu `exposes’ BRS `hypocrisy in HCU land issue

Hyderabad: Minister Sridhar Babu hits out at KTR for using students as pawns for political gains

Hyderabad: A day after KTR warned investors against buying Kancha Gachibowli land, IT Minister Sridhar Babu exposed the `double standards' of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) land issue.

In a detailed note, Sridhar Babu called out the BRS' hypocrisy, saying their claims about protecting HCU lands if they return to power are nothing but a joke. He reiterated that the current government has no plans to encroach upon HCU lands. He said not a single inch will be touched.

He said BRS leaders are misleading students, using them as pawns for political gains. Through fabricated images and manipulated videos, they are attempting to provoke unrest on social media. The minister strongly condemned such deceitful tactics and urged BRS to stop misguiding students for political mileage.

Industrial Growth vs. BRS' Disruptive Politics

While Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is focused on driving industrial development and job creation, KTR is resorting to personal attacks, which are highly inappropriate. We demand that he withdraw his baseless remarks against the Chief Minister, he said.

The state’s youth deserve opportunities, not obstacles. Attempts to hinder industrial progress through false propaganda are nothing short of a conspiracy to deny employment to Telangana’s young men and women.

The truth about Gachibowli lands:

The 400-acre land in Gachibowli has no connection to HCU.

This land is under the full legal ownership of the government, as affirmed by both the High Court and the Supreme Court.

The TDP government once allocated this land to a private company, but it was the Congress government that revoked that decision and protected it.

If BRS truly cared, why were they silent about these lands for ten years? Instead of protecting public resources, they handed over lands in the surrounding areas to benamis. Their sudden activism today is nothing but political theatrics.

BRS' hypocrisy on environmental conservation:

* Between 2014-2023, BRS oversaw the destruction of 4,28,437 acres of forest land.

* For the useless Kaleshwaram project, they cleared 7,829 acres of forest land.

* Between 2016-2019, Telangana ranked among the top 3 states for deforestation, with 12,12,753 trees cut down, as per a written response in Parliament.

* BRS uprooted thousands of trees in Warangal for their public meetings.

* They demolished massive government buildings covering 28 acres and destroyed nearly 1,000 century-old trees to construct a "New Secretariat."

How can the destroyers of Telangana’s environment now claim to be its saviors?

BRS’ fake outrage over HCU lands:

For 25 years, the 400 acres in Gachibowli remained unused, overgrown with wild shrubs. Yet BRS is spreading fake videos and propaganda to mislead the public.

BRS should recall what KCR himself stated in the Assembly about HCU lands before engaging in these double standards.

The party’s history of land mismanagement is evident:

During the BRS government, they planned to build double-bedroom houses on Osmania University lands.

When students protested, they backed off.

Now, they are pretending to "protect" HCU lands that aren’t even in danger!

The real agenda behind BRS’ propaganda:

BRS is not fighting for HCU lands, students, or environmental conservation. Their real goal is to disrupt development, stall industries, and create unrest.

They must abandon their anti-progress mindset and align with public aspirations instead of resorting to lies and deceit.

Background

Supreme Court has given a stay on these 400 acres of land. The state government has said it will abide by the court orders.
