Hyderabad: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana State, Vikas Raj, reviewed the performance of law enforcement agencies at his office on Friday with its nodal officers in connection with the upcoming 2024 General Elections to the Lok Sabha.

The discussion focused on monitoring cash, drugs and liquor flow before and during the elections as well as training officials of respective agencies.




CEO Vikas Raj has recommended effective ways of monitoring and curbing the cash flow, precious metals, liquor and also drugs at the borders and the State. He requested all the agencies to prepare an action plan for the upcoming Parliamentary elections and also advised to convene cohort-wise meetings to chalk out the hurdles in the implementation of law and order. He also suggested training programmes for district officials with the respective agencies.

Before the meeting with the law enforcement agencies, the CEO also chaired another meeting with representatives of various political parties early this week. It was aimed at disseminating essential information regarding the upcoming Parliamentary elections in the state.

Among those who attended the meeting included the nodal officers of enforcement agencies that is Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, State Level Banking Committee, State Police Department, IT Department, Airport Authority of India (AAI), State Aviation, Enforcement Directorate, Postal Department, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Central Excise, Commercial Taxes, Transport Department, State Excise, Railway Protection Force (RPF), CISF and Central Armed Police Force. Additional CEO Lokesh Kumar and nodal officer of enforcement agencies Mahesh Bhagwat also addressed the meeting.
