Hyderabad: AICC in-charge for Telangana, Manickam Tagore, on Wednesday, dared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to order an inquiry into the TRS government rather than just throwing accusations of rampant corruption.
Tagore, along with TPCC President, Uttam Kumar Reddy, and other leaders, was addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan. He accused Minister K.T. Rama Rao and his associates of following unethical practices and sought an inquiry by the Income Tax Department, Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or other Central agencies. He pointed out that the silence of the Centre suggests a tacit understanding between the BJP and the TRS. It's like the "Dosti in Delhi, Kushti in Hyderabad", he said.
"Why is it that any Central Minister, who comes to Hyderabad, talks only of TRS corruption when they have all the authority to order an investigation?" he asked.
He also condemned BJP for attempting to divide the society on communal lines for electoral gains. The TRS, on the other hand, was distributing money to buy votes, he alleged.
Tagore said that the Congress manifesto for GHMC elections was comprehensive and promised solutions to the real problems. He appealed to the people to vote for Congress to ensure the development of Hyderabad and defeat communal, divisive and corrupt BJP, MIM and TRS parties.
