Munugode by-poll: KTR thanks voters; says people gave befitting reply to BJPs manipulations

Expressing gratitude to the voters of Munugode, TRS working president K. Taraka Rama Rao said people have chosen development, self-respect, and KCR's leadership.

"On November 3, the people of Munugode chose development and self-respect. They have chosen KCR's leadership and voted for the TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy. I thank people, the cadres, leaders, and the elected representatives of TRS for helping us in the election," KTR said.

He thanked the leaders, party cadre, district coordinators of CPI, and CPM for helping them on the ground.

The minister claimed their vote share has increased. "Previously, we had 34.29%, vote share and now it has gone up to 43%," he said

With his win, the TRS party has all 12 constituencies of the Nalgonda region in its kitty.

"They say in politics there are no murders, only suicides. Today this forced election has proven that. Though Rajagopal reddy was the face of the election, the puppet show was controlled by Amit Shah and Narendra Modi," he said

KTR accused BJP of falling to new lows in this poll. "BJP has left no stone unturned to manipulate these elections. From sending hundreds of crores of money to trying to destabilize the state government, they have fallen to new low," he said.

Asked about BRS, the minister said the election commission has yet to recognize their new party's name.

By the end of all rounds, TRS secured 97006, BJP- 86697, Congress- 23906, and BSP- 4146.

The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on August 8. He quit Congress and joined the BJP.

BJP later fielded him from the constituency. Indian National Congress fielded Palvai Sravanthi. TRS nominated Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) reposed faith in Andoju Shankara Chari.

Munugode is part of the Bhongir Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency in the Nalgonda district. The constituency has 2,41,855 voters including 1,21,720 males, 1,20,128 females, and seven transgenders.
