'My daughter needs my support': YS Vijayamma resigns from YSRCP, to join Sharmila's party
Vijayamma said, "I was there when my son was struggling and he is happy now"

Guntur: In a major surprise, Y.S Vijayamma, the honorary president of YSRCP, announced her resignation from the party at the two-day YSRCP plenary which began on Friday here.
Vijayamma, the mother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, said she will join the YSR Telangana party headed by her daughter Y.S Sharmila. Sharmila launched the party in July 2021. Since then, Jagan has been maintaining his distance from her.
Addressing the audience on Friday, Vijayamma said, "I decided to leave the party because my daughter Y.S Sharmila who is fighting alone in Telangana needs my support. I was there when my son was struggling and he is happy now. My conscience does not allow me to stay here while my daughter is struggling." She said she took the decision so that it does not hurt anyone or become controversial.
