Nalgonda police file FIR against MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy over threat calls

Hyderabad: Nalgonda I town police filed an FIR against Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday. This came a day after an audio clip of a phone call made by Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, threatening to kill TPCC vice-president Dr. Cheruku Sudhakar and his son Dr. Suhas, went viral on social media.

On 5 March, a complaint was filed by Dr. Suhas stating that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had called him and abused him and his father Dr. Cheruku Sudhakar. The MP threatened to kill his father and demolish Navya hospital, which is managed by Dr. Suhas. “He threatened that his henchmen will kill my father within a week,” said Dr. Suhas in the complaint. Dr. Suhas sought legal action against Venkat Reddy.

As per the direction of the local court, Sub-inspector of Nalgonda I town police K Naresh registered a case under section 506 of the IPC (criminal threats) and launched an investigation.

On this issue, the Congress leaders demanded that Venkat Reddy be arrested immediately and protection be provided for Cheruku Sudhakar’s family.
