Nampally BJP office echoes with cheers, crackers after Huzurabad victory

Hyderabad: The BJP office in Nampally saw big celebrations after Eatala Rajender won the Huzurabad by-polls with a whopping majority of 24,068 votes. The area was filled with party men celebrating the victory, cheering, drumming, and bursting crackers.

Bandi Sanjay, BJP Telangana president, tweeted, "Corruption TRS government irregularities, abuse of power temptations to win a solid victory in the by-elections of Huzurabad Shri @Eatala Rajender Heartfelt congratulations to Garu. Thanks to the people of Huzurabad who won the BJP and to the leaders and activists who worked for this victory."

He also shared a live video of the celebrations at the BJP Bhawan.

Eatala Rajender had been leading since the initial rounds of counting. Earlier in the day, Bandi Sanjay had expressed hope that the BJP would win the by-poll.

K. Krishna Saagar Rao, the chief spokesperson of BJP Telangana, in a media statement, congratulated Mr. Rajender for "achieving a decisive victory against TRS party". He thanked the people of Huzurabad for having voted for BJP in the by-poll. "This victory is the victory of democracy. TRS antics of abuse of power, distribution of money, and political vengeance have been defeated," added Mr. Rao.

Meanwhile, finance minister T. Harish Rao tweeted, "In any case, TRS party will not sink with defeat in a single election and will not overflow when it wins. The winning TRS party will work on behalf of the people." He further thanked all voters who voted for the TRS and the party workers who toiled hard.

Telangana minister for IT, industries, and commerce K.T Rama Rao also thanked the party leaders, cadre, and social media warriors who toiled hard in Huzurabad. "Would like to thank and applaud the tireless efforts of @trsharish Garu, @Koppuleshwar1 Garu @GKamalakarTRS Garu and all the MLAs and TRS party leaders and cadre who have toiled hard in Huzurabad," he tweeted.

KTR further wrote, "In the last 20 years TRS has seen many highs and lows and this one election will not be of much significance or consequence. My compliments to @Gellu Srinivas for a spirited fight." He also appealed to all the TRS workers to work with increased resolve to forge ahead in future battles.

Barring two rounds out of 22, Mr. Rajender was leading in the high octane by-polls. Eatala, an MLA for the sixth time now, will now join BJP's Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh and Dubbaka MLA Raghunandan Rao in the Legislative Assembly.
