No alliance with AIMIM; woman coporator from TRS will be Hyderabad Mayor: KTR

Hyderabad: TRS working president and MAUD minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday clarified that they will not leave GHMC mayor seat to their ally AIMIM.

Addressing media at Somajiguda, he said TRS has not entered into an alliance with the AIMIM and they will contest all 150 divisions in the GHMC elections.

"TRS has no alliance with AIMIM in GHMC elections. We have won five seats in the old city in the last GHMC polls. I can say with confidence that we will defeat AIMIM candidates and bag more than 10 divisions in the old city alone," he said.

Exuding confidence about victory, he urged people to choose between 'divisive' and 'decisive' politics. "After the result is out, a woman corporator from TRS would be made the mayor," he said.

Lashing out at BJP, KTR said some people are raising Indo-Pakistan and Indo-China issues in GHMC polls. "Let them speak about the GHMC polls which are relevant here," he said.

He said his government has spent Rs 67,000 crores for the development of Hyderabad city. "In a couple of days, I will reveal how the amount was spent. At this moment, I want to ask BJP leaders if they can bring an Rs one lakh crore package from the centre," he said.

Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's `Vocal for Local', he said that TRS is a Galli party and BJP is a Delhi party and Hyderabad can see development under TRS' rule.

While advising the BJP leaders not to resort to publicity stunts, he warned of strong action against anyone who tries to damage `Brand Hyderabad's image.
