Hyderabad: AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that the government is using Bihar SIR (Special Intensive Revision) as an excuse to delete genuine voters.

He also said that there is a lot of confusion regarding authenticating the revision of names since no one knows how many have provided documents along with their names.

He also said that the government was unable to explain in Parliament which document is needed to prove citizenship, which invalidates the SIR exercise.

On Pakistan-India match

Owaisi also said that he is not going to watch the India-Pakistan cricket match. He said playing the match doesn’t seem necessary when Pakistan is not speaking on favourable terms with India on many levels, including closing the Wagah border and visa process.

Multiple projects worth Rs 3.25 crores inaugurated

AIMIM President and Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi inaugurated five projects, such as gyms, school blocks and a library in Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency on Wednesday.

The projects are said to be worth Rs 3.25 crores executed under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

Here are the projects that were opened by the Hyderabad MP:

- A modern multi-gym at the Sports Complex, Chandulal Baradari, Bahadurpura, with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakhs.

- Another multi-gym at Manju Miyan Tabela Community Hall, Dabeerpura, with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakhs under the Yakutpura Assembly Constituency.

- A new Anganwadi building and toilet block at Government High School, Azampura-II, with an estimated cost of Rs 35 lakh.

Last year, during the inauguration of the school building here, the Anganwadi teachers told Owaisi that the centre was just a tin shed. The same educational block was realised on Wednesday.

- A new building for Government Boys High School (Urdu Medium) for Classes 6 to 10 at Moghalpura, Sultan Shahi, under the Charminar Assembly segment, with an estimated cost of Rs 129.70 lakhs. Nearly 400 students are said to have benefited from better classrooms and facilities.

- A new library building at the Moghalpura Division was built for Rs 60 lakh.
