Pawan lays stone for Jal Jeevan Mission in Prakasam, slams YSRCP over threats of violence
Prakasam: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Friday strongly criticised YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders for their alleged threats of violence against the ruling coalition.
“They are saying if they come to power in 2029, they will see our end. Well, you have to come to power first. We’ll see how you come to power,” he remarked, addressing a public meeting at Narasimhapuram village in Prakasam district.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan laid a foundation stone for a drinking water project worth Rs 1,290 crore under the Central Government’s Jal Jeevan Mission.
Pawan blames YSRCP for its own current plight
The Jana Sena Party chief said the YSRCP’s current plight is a result of its own actions. “They threatened people with rowdyism and goondaism during their rule. That is why they are in this position today,” he said.
Previous government neglected drinking water needs
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan criticised the previous YSRCP government for neglecting the drinking water crisis in the region. “They did not even think of launching a drinking water project for the people,” he pointed out.
Long-awaited solution to drinking water, fluorosis issues
Calling it a moment of great satisfaction, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said the project aims to provide clean drinking water to 22 lakh people across seven Assembly constituencies, offering a solution to decades-old drinking water scarcity and fluorosis problems in the region.
Pawan credits BJP and TDP leadership for water project
The actor-politician acknowledged the support of the BJP and TDP in realising the project. “Without the BJP’s support, this project would not have been possible. If chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu were not there, finances could not have been managed in such a planned manner. I have no experience. I have the power to fight,” he said.
He emphasised that multiple forces need to come together to execute development works. “All fingers have to join to make a fist. There is no one big or small,” he remarked.
‘Not a government of vengeance’
Clarifying the coalition government’s stand, he said, “It’s not a government that seeks vengeance, but it will punish those who make mistakes. We are working with humility, don’t provoke us.”
Strong warning on temple land encroachments
Pawan Kalyan also issued a stern warning against encroachment of temple lands. “Do not meddle with Endowments Department lands. Your generations will go, but these lands will remain,” he said, adding that the process of reclaiming encroached temple lands has begun and the government is committed to protecting them.
Later, in a post on X, the deputy CM termed it a landmark day for Prakasam district, thanking prime minister Narendra Modi and Union Jal Shakti minister CR Patil for their support.
“Under the leadership of CM Naidu, this crucial project has been undertaken by the Rural Water Supply Department to address the region’s long-pending drinking water crisis. In the coming years, with the collective efforts of the Centre and State, we aim to ensure tap water for every home and safe drinking water for one crore families across Andhra Pradesh,” he stated.
