Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) filed a defamation suit against Congress leaders KK Mahender Reddy, MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, and minister Konda Surekha for making false accusations against him regarding phone tapping.

Mahender Reddy and Srinivas Reddy complained about phone tapping to Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Kothakota Srinivas Reddy on Monday. Mahender Reddy claimed in his accusation that someone had bugged his phone during the Assembly elections. While Srinivas Reddy complained about phone tapping to Director-General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta on March 26.

The claims made by the leaders were "misplaced and there was no proof of it," according to the legal notices delivered by PV Janani and Associates to the respective leaders. Furthermore, it also stated that the accusations were "made with malefice intention to tarnish the reputation, image, and goodwill" of KTR.

The notice also threatened to take legal action against the leaders unless they issued an apology. Minister Konda Surekha had already claimed that KTR had intimidated a few movie stars and engaged in phone tapping.
