PM in Hyderabad: Congress wants to rob BCs, SCs of reservations, give to Muslims
Narendra Modi accused Congress of opening a ‘fake video manufacturing dukaan (shop)’ to mislead people.
By Mahesh Avadhutha Published on 10 May 2024 3:58 PM GMTHyderabad: In a set of no-holds-barred speeches during his election tour in Telangana on Friday, prime minister Narendra Modi launched an all-out attack against his political rivals.
He accused Congress of opening a ‘fake video manufacturing dukaan (shop)’ to mislead people.
“Congress took on the baton of corruption from the earlier BRS government and is treading the same path,” Modi said. The corruption is at a level that there is big talk about the ‘RR Tax’ in Delhi circles, he added.
PM Modi addressed election meetings in Narayanpet and Hyderabad (in LB Stadium) in support of BJP MP candidates in Telangana: DK Aruna (Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha contestant), G Kishan Reddy (Secunderabad), Eatala Rajender (Malkajgiri), Konda Vishweshwar Reddy (Chevella), K Madhavi Latha (Hyderabad) and Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud (Bhongir), who were also present on the dais along with senior leaders of the party.
Modi’s Deccani Hindi slang catches eye
After starting his speech with his customary ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogans, Narendra Modi greeted people in Telugu and also extended Akshaya Tritiya wishes; his Deccani Hindi lingo reflecting the mood of the Telangana public on elections eve caught the attention of one and all.
“Congress... nakko (meaning no in English), BRS... nakko, MIM.... nakko, BJP ko eech vote denge (we will only vote for BJP), BJP ko jeetayenge (will ensure win for BJP),” Modi told the crowd amid applause.
Further, he said, wherever he visited Telangana as part of electioneering he could witness a big change in the mindset of people. The BJP will win big this time in Telangana and the election results from Telangana will attract nationwide attention. The country and 140 crore Indians are going to win on June 4, PM Modi added.
‘BRS and Congress are the same’
PM Modi said a vote for BRS is an indirect vote to Congress. “And a vote for Congress is nothing but waste as it is not likely to form government at the Centre,” PM Modi opined.
“The earlier CM and the present CM were elected by the people of Mahabubnagar on different occasions, but did nothing to the locals, Modi said in his meeting in Narayanpet held on Friday afternoon and appealed to people to support women candidates, especially committed leaders like DK Aruna.
‘Telangana set for speedy development in next five years’
PM Modi said the BJP government allotted AIIMS, four Vande Bharat trains, a Turmeric Board, NTPC plant in Ramagundam besides reviving the Ramagundam Fertiliser and Chemicals factory in Telangana.
“We are looking at transforming Telangana into a ‘Global Capability Centre’ in the next five years creating a big number of jobs as part of Aatma Nirbhar Abhiyaan,” said PM Modi, listing the strides made in aviation, defence, bio-technology, green energy, electric mobility, Artificial Intelligence and manufacturing sectors.
He said the BRS and Congress governments neglected basic issues in Hyderabad city and hence the city is facing severe water inundation problems every year.
All-out attack against Congress and Rahul Gandhi
He appealed to Telangana citizens to look at his track record in the last 10 years, while claiming that Congress’ track record was just ‘loot.... loot...loot.’
“The Shahzada (referring to Rahul Gandhi) preaches love and oneness, but at the time of elections, he forgets these things. Modi accused Rahul Gandhi’s aides of comparing South Indians and Telangana people to Africans based on their skin colour, which is highly objectionable,” he said.
“Further they are saying that performing prayers or going to Ayodhya or building Ram Mandir is against the idea of India. Congress is dividing the nation on religion and appeasement politics,” Modi said. Congress wants to rob BCs and SCs of their reservations and allot them to Muslims to appease them, he said.
