Poll violation: Telangana HC dismisses criminal case against BRS MLA Vivekananda Goud

Telangana High Court quashed the criminal case against BRS Quthbullapur MLA Pandu Vivekananda Goud.

A case was registered against K. Pandu Vivekananda Goud and his 12 supporters for violating the poll code during the GHMC election in 2016.

On February 2, 2016, Sub Inspector K. Srinivas of Jeedimetla police station received a complaint about a scuffle between workers of different parties. During the investigation, it was found that MLA K.P. Vivekananda and his followers violated the election code. A case was registered against the MLA and his followers

On March 22, 2021, the court had stayed the proceedings against the other accused. However, it allowed the petition filed by MLA seeking to quash the criminal case registered against him.
