Hyderabad: On Monday, people from across Telangana came in large numbers to the Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Begumpet to submit their grievances in the Praja Darbar, organised as per the instructions of chief minister A Revanth Reddy, to understand and address the issues facing Telangana citizens.

As per a tweet from the Telangana CMOā€™s X account, Praja Darbar received 4,471 petitions since the beginning of the program, most of them being about double-bedroom houses and pensions. Another program by the government to address public grievances at the district level is the Prajavani programme which received 1,143 petitions on Monday, the tweet said.

State IT, Industries and Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu received the applications at the Praja Darbar, assuring people that the government will solve their problems. Revival of the daily Praja Darbar was one of the promises in the Congress election manifesto.




TS Genco AE exam candidates and mid-day meal cooks

The Praja Darbar is seeing petitions from all sections of society approaching the government for solutions to their problems.

Some youth who attended the Praja Darbar requested the government to postpone the TS Genco AE (Assistant Engineer) exam, scheduled to be held on December 17. Upon meeting the minister, the candidates explained some of them have to attend two or three exams, also being held on the same day.

Promising that the issue would be looked into and brought to the notice of the chief minister, Sridhar Babu asked the applicants to submit their addresses and phone numbers along with the issues in their application forms.

ā€œThe government will decide on the postponement of the TS Genco AE exam after discussing with the officials concerned,ā€ the applicants were told.

Among others who attended the Praja Darbar, the government mid-day meal cooks submitted a petition for their honorarium to be credited to them regularly every month.

Addressing petitions about speculation that in the Hyderabad market, the IT industry and small businesses will be sidelined. Babu said, ā€œWe are here for the development of all.ā€

Elaborate arrangements

For the convenience of the petitioners, the State government made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of the Praja Darbar. GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose coordinated the Praja Darbar and AYUSH department director Harichandana, senior IAS officer Musharraf Ali, Hyderabad collector D Anudeep, Khairatabad zonal commissioner Venkatesh Dotri and other officials were also present.
