Tirupati: Actor and Andhra Pradesh government advisor Ali said he is ready to contest against Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan if Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy asks him to. He made the statement during the Sankranti celebrations at Nagari Government Degree College in Chittoor district.
When asked if he will compete against PK, Ali said, “Friendship and politics are different. Two members of the same family cast their votes for opposing parties. I feel the same way about PK. I am willing to contest from wherever my chief minister says.”
Ali, who hails from Rajahmundry, said he was ready to contest from Rajahmundry or Vijayawada.
Ali and Pawan Kalyan have been friends for over two decades and Ali has appeared in a majority of Pawan Kalyan’s films. Pawan, at the audio event of ‘Panjaa,’ had even said that he cannot work in films without Ali.
Though it has not been officially announced, perhaps there are chances for a political rivalry between the two actors.
Ali joined YSRCP in 2019, before the elections, and was later appointed as the government’s media advisor.
Before joining the YSRCP, Ali had also met Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.
