Revanth: BRS sacrificed itself for BJP’s win in Telangana
Revanth further said that Harish Rao ensured his cadre votes in Siddipet were also transferred to BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao
By Newsmeter Network Published on 5 Jun 2024 12:47 PM GMTHyderabad: Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy alleged that BRS helped the BJP win eight Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. By doing so, the pink party lost deposits in seven of those segments, he pointed out.
Sharing his perspectives on the 2024 Lok Sabha election results in a press conference held on Wednesday, Revanth further said that Harish Rao ensured his cadre votes in Siddipet were also transferred to BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao contributing to BJP’s win.
‘KCR donated his BRS organs to BJP’
“Like in an organ transplantation, KCR donated all the lifesaving organs of BRS to the BJP. The party sacrificed its life on its own. KCR, KTR and Harish pledged the self-respect of BRS MLAs in the state to BJP. KTR and Harish are saying that they will rise like a phoenix in the coming days but the party is completely decimated in Telangana and now left with only ashes and nothing else,” Revanth said, adding that people taught a fitting lesson to the pink party for its non-stop attack and criticism of the Congress government even before it completed 100-days of rule.
BRS, which got 37.5 per cent votes in the Assembly elections, fell to 16.5 per cent in this election. BJP which got a 13 per cent vote share in Assembly elections increased to 35.5 per cent thus winning eight seats.
Commenting on Congress’ performance in Telangana, they were happy with the results. Congress got the highest vote share of 41 per cent and won eight out of 17 seats.
‘Increase in vote share shows people’s confidence in Congress’
In Assembly elections, Congress vote share stood at 39.5 per cent. In the Lok Sabha elections, our vote share increased further indicating that the public is happy with the people-centric governance that we assured after coming to power.
Revanth Reddy mentioned before the elections that Lok Sabha polls were like a referendum on 100 days of people’s rule and results showed that the public backed the Congress party.
“Our vote percentage has increased in this election. These results show that people are happy with our administration. By ensuring Congress win in Cantonment by-election, people gave us an additional seat thus increasing our tally to 65 in the State,” Revanth said.
So far, we have worked for 18 hours. From now on we will work for two more hours. I am fully responsible for the wins and losses in the State, Revanth said replying to queries that Congress lost in Mahabubnagar and Malkajgiri CM’s own turf. He said that Congress won in the Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly that falls in Malkajgiri Lok Sabha.
‘Modi’s guarantee lost its warranty’
Speaking on the national results, Revanth said that Narendra Modi should tender his resignation for prime minister post and never take it up again as BJP fell short of the majority mark and its number from the 2019 elections.
BJP fell from 303 seats to 243. People of the country rejected PM Modi. At least now, BJP should change its undemocratic behaviour, Revanth said.
