Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday threw an open challenge to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, asking him to show the development the Congress government has brought to Jubilee Hills constituency in the past two years.
Releasing the ‘Jubilee Hills Progress Report’ at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said that the BRS was seeking public support based on its track record and demanded that the ruling Congress should do the same. “We show records and ask for votes. If the Congress has courage, let them show their two-year record and seek votes,” he said.
‘Rs 5,328 crore spent under BRS rule’
According to the report, between 2014 and 2023, the BRS government invested Rs 5,328 crore in the Jubilee Hills constituency under the leadership of MLA Maganti Gopinath. The development works, KTR said, directly benefited over 2.12 lakh people across sectors such as infrastructure, welfare, healthcare, housing and education.
Big push for infrastructure and transport
A total of Rs 2,463 crore was spent on strengthening public transport and urban infrastructure, KTR noted. This included major road upgrades, flyovers, traffic improvement works, and Hyderabad Metro development.
“Let the Congress government tell the people if even one new road has been laid in the past two years,” he said.
Health and welfare spending
KTR said Rs 919 crore was invested in improving healthcare facilities, including Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) and Basti Dawakhanas. During the COVID-19 period, Rs 13.87 crore worth of vaccines were administered to nearly 34,712 people.
Under welfare health schemes, Rs 98 lakh was spent under Arogyalaxmi, Rs 73 lakh on KCR Kits, Rs 55 lakh on Kanti Velugu and Rs 14 lakh on nutrition kits.
Housing and social welfare
To support housing and welfare schemes, Rs 324 crore was spent on housing aid and Rs 705 crore on social welfare programmes. The BRS government disbursed Rs 63 crore under Kalyana Lakshmi to benefit 6,320 families and Rs 564 crore under Aasara pensions for 25,905 beneficiaries, he said.
Festival assistance programmes such as Bathukamma saree distribution, Ramzan and Christmas gifts, Dalit Bandhu, and BC Bandhu together accounted for another Rs 75 crore, while Rs 2 crore was used to operate Annapurna canteens.

In civic development, Rs 44 crore was used for public amenities, including Rs 17.3 crore for multi-purpose halls, Rs 2.7 crore for CCTV expansion, and Rs 5 crore for LED streetlight maintenance.
Reliable power and water supply
KTR stated that Rs 505 crore was invested to make Jubilee Hills a “generator-free constituency.” Ten new substations were constructed with Rs 455 crore, and Rs 50 crore was allocated for free household electricity support.
For water supply, Rs 180 crore was spent, including Rs 30 crore for free tap connections and Rs 150 crore for the Borabanda reservoir.
Green and clean initiatives
Addressing environmental efforts, KTR said Rs 75 crore was spent under SNDP works to resolve sewage and drainage issues. An additional Rs 26 crore was used for greenery and beautification, Rs 20 crore for park development, Rs 2 crore for rejuvenating Gulakapur and Erra Kunta lakes, and Rs 4.45 crore for disaster management.
‘We worked, they must show proof’
Concluding the press meet, KTR asserted that Jubilee Hills’ transformation under BRS was evident across every locality.
“We developed Jubilee Hills with commitment and results. If Congress believes it has delivered anything meaningful in the last two years, let them come forward for a public debate. If they have the courage, let them show their record,” he said.
