TDP to support Draupadi Murmu as the 'first tribal woman President'

TDP to support Draupadi Murmu as the first tribal woman President

Amaravati: The Telugu Desam Party has decided to extend support to the candidature of tribal leader Draupadi Murmu for the post of the President of India. TDP party national president N Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP will support the "first tribal woman and it would be wonderful to see her become the President of India".

Stating that the TDP is always committed for social justice, Naidu said that the TDP's Strategic Committee decided to back the tribal woman leader for the top post in the country. Recalling that the TDP had earlier too supported the candidatures of KR Narayanan and APJ Abdul Kalam for the post of President of India and these are the classic examples of the party's commitment for social justice.

The TDP is behind GMC Balayogi becoming the Lok Sabha Speaker and Prathibha Bharathi as Speaker of the Assembly, he said adding that Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu became the Union Minister only with the party's support. TDP always stood by Telugu people and is committed for social justice, Mr Chandrababu Naidu said.
