Hyderabad: Telangana High Court has adjourned the BRS MLA defection case till July 3.

BRS MLAs Kuna Pandu Vivekananda and Padi Kaushik Reddy had prayed for a direction to the Speaker to disqualify MLA Bhadradri Koghagudem, Venkata Rao Tellam; MLA Ghanpur-Hanmakonda, Kadiam Srihari; and MLA Kahairtabad, Danam Nagender for defecting to Congress without resigning from the BRS.

There are two Judgments by the Supreme Court in Maharashtra and Manipur cases, wherein the Speakers were directed to decide the disqualification petitions within a prescribed time limit.

These two judgments were placed before Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy and sought direction to the Speaker to decide on the disqualification petitions pending before him.

Due to paucity of time, the judge adjourned the matter to July 3 for further hearing.

Further, the court also dealt with the writ filed by Padi Kaushik Reddy, MLA of Huzurabad Assembly Constituency, seeking a direction to the Speaker to disqualify Danam Nagender, MLA from Khairatabad for switching to the Congress party.
