Telangana HC dismisses petition challenging BRS MLA Marri Janardhan’s election

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court has dismissed the petition challenging the election of BRS MLA Marri Janardhan from 81-Nagarkurnool Constituency.

Dr. Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who contested on a Congress ticket from Nagarkurnool Assembly Constituency had challenged the election of Marri Janardhan Reddy.

The counsel for the petitioner contended that Marri Janadhan Reddy suppressed and concealed certain information pertaining to his wife. That includes 9,000 shares she held in Kakatiya Industries worth Rs.90,000. He said fact was suppressed in Form 26.

The counsel for the respondent informed the Court that he had not suppressed any information while submitting Form 26. He said 9,000 shares constitute only .15 percent, which is very meager. He said this act of the petitioner clearly shows that the allegation is frivolous.

The court later dismissed the petition.
