Telangana Municipal Polls: AIMIM wins multiple wards, strong performance in Bhainsa and Bodhan

Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has registered significant gains in the Telangana Municipal Corporation Elections 2026, securing multiple wards across several districts and emerging as a key player in urban local bodies.

The party had notched up victories in municipalities spanning north and south Telangana, while also leading in a few additional wards.

Wins across districts

In Kaghaznagar, AIMIM candidate Abdul Mubeen won Ward No. 3, while in Sangareddy, Aijaz secured Ward No. 5.

The party bagged two seats in Zaheerabad, with Sunamma winning Ward No. 8 (Dalit reserved) and Mohd. Rafi emerged victorious in Ward No. 14.

In Jagital, AIMIM won Wards 31 and 34 and was leading in two more wards at the time of reporting.

Victories in South Telangana

Farah Naaz clinched Ward No. 17 in Baswada, while Shabbir Hussain won Ward No. 4 in Vikarabad.

In Nirmal, Mujahid Ali secured Ward No. 29, and Mohammed Taqui Chand won Ward No. 23 in Narayanpet.

Sana Afreen registered a victory in Ward No. 9 in Kodangal, and Rafi won Ward No. 8 in Kohir.

Strong show in Bhainsa and Bodhan

AIMIM put up a strong performance in Bhainsa, winning eight wards. Independents, including BJP rebels, secured six wards.

The party dominated in Bodhan, winning 12 wards.

The victorious candidates include Rafeeq (Ward 3), Sameer (Ward 5), Aqeel (Ward 7), Rafi (Ward 8), Aleem (Ward 12), Mir Ilyas Ali (Ward 18), Ansari Kahm (Ward 27), Mujahid Babar (Ward 28), Wali (Ward 30), Altaf (Ward 31), Waseem Sultana (Ward 32) and Khaikhashah Kauasar (Ward 38).

Gains in Nalgonda

In Nalgonda, AIMIM won two seats. Town President Rafi Uddin emerged victorious from Ward No. 46, while Nadeem secured Ward No. 29.

With these results, AIMIM has strengthened its footprint in several urban local bodies across Telangana, reflecting its sustained influence in select municipalities.
